If your pet dog catches fleas, it can lead to the alarming consequences as the fleas suck the blood from the veins of the dog. They grow with a fast pace and get multiplied within a short span of time. Though they move all around the hair of the dog but the armpits, back legs joints and tail can be the focused point of fleas. The poor dog stays busy in scratching its body where the onslaught of fleas irritates it. Biting of fleas and continuous scratching leaves its skin wounded. The dangerous thing of the fleas on dogs is that they transfer the fleas to other dogs and cats at home. Living in the same home results in a serious situation when your pet cat is seen scratching itself in the same way, the same irritation, the same wounds.
They sit in the same places
When cats and dogs are kept in the home together, it is most likely that they will live together and sit in the places of each other. Fleas in the hair of dog drop where it sits and cat can easily contract them.
Cat and dog come close
Though there is a bad blood between cat and dog but they come close to each other after a little training. They play games together and rub their body with each other which can manage the hosting of fleas.
They can fall upon each other
Sometime they fight and touch each other encouraging the fleas to shift from the dog to the cat because fleas can fly for a short distance and make the cat’s hair their home. It is highly recommended to remove fleas on dogs otherwise it will multiply the problem to all other mammal pets especially cats.
